The Voter Integrity Project AND Walking – Door to Door

I’m asking for your vote for my campaign for 13th District Chair. My website has been up for weeks. Campaign mailers should have reached your mailbox. This week, with a little extra time away from work, I crafted a door hanger and set out on foot. Well, I did have to use the car as all our delegates don’t live as close together as your neighbors when you are walking your block. Thankfully, with volunteer help, I was able to hit a portion of Wake County. And leave some campaign material for delegates. (Duly noted is the fact that a lot of Republicans work, so the daytime deliveries were waiting on many when they got home.)
About walking your block: in 2014, I volunteered to walk a portion of my neighborhood to help my precinct chair. During a recent presentation by Voter Integrity Project, Jay Delancy discussed that many homes have more than eight registered voters due to the lack of purging by the local board of election. I was reminded of walking the next neighborhood over in 2010, and had that very instance occur. There were 4 “Jones” and 4 “Smiths” on the same list at the same address, so when someone answered the door, I asked “Are you the Jones or the Smiths?” Of course, there was only one family living in the home, so clearly some duplication occurred. How easy for the other 4 to go to early vote and cast a ballot? Easy as showing up. Voter integrity shattered.
Back to walking, you’ve had some time to consider your options in this election. I ask for your support. I ask for your vote. I have the most experience, the best experience, and the RIGHT experience.
